Privacy Policy

Effective December 21, 2024 · Last updated July 26, 2026

This policy explains how Shipments, an app from Alpine Technologies LLC of Utah, USA, handles information when you use the app, visit this website, or contact us. It is written to describe the current product rather than hypothetical features.

Shipments does not require a separate Shipments account. If you enable iCloud, Apple associates synced app data with the Apple Account you use for iCloud under Apple’s own terms.

1. Information Shipments processes

Package and tracking information

When you add a shipment, the app processes the tracking number, selected or detected carrier, an optional package nickname, and carrier events returned for that shipment. Some carriers may require additional details—such as a destination postal code, ship date, order number, or phone number—to locate a package. Only enter information you are authorized to use.

Carrier responses can include shipment status, timestamps, locations, delivery estimates, service details, and other information supplied by the carrier network.

App, device, and usage information

We and our service providers may process technical and product-use information such as app version, device and operating-system details, an app or device identifier, network request metadata, feature interactions, performance information, and error details. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Shipments.

Notifications

If you allow push notifications, Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging process a push token and shipment-specific notification topics so the app can deliver tracking alerts. You can turn notifications off in iOS or iPadOS Settings.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes App Store payments. Shipments, RevenueCat, and Superwall process purchase and subscription status, product selection, paywall interactions, and related identifiers needed to provide and manage premium access. We do not receive your full payment-card number.

Support information

If you email us, we receive the email address and message content you choose to provide, along with ordinary email metadata.

2. How we use information

  • detect a carrier and retrieve, organize, refresh, and display tracking events;
  • provide delivery alerts, timelines, summaries, and estimated arrival information;
  • sync saved shipments across supported Apple devices when iCloud is available;
  • provide premium features and manage purchase status;
  • secure the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and maintain reliability;
  • understand feature use and improve the app; and
  • respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.

Delivery estimates and AI-generated insights are informational estimates, not guarantees. Carrier data remains authoritative for official status, commitments, holds, address changes, and claims.

3. Where information is processed

Shipments uses service providers only for functions needed to deliver and improve the product. Depending on the feature you use, information may be processed by:

  • Apple — App Store payments, iCloud/CloudKit sync, and Apple Push Notification service. See Apple’s privacy policy.
  • Shipments’ backend and AfterShip — carrier detection and package-tracking requests, events, and delivery data. See AfterShip’s privacy policy.
  • OpenAI — tracking events and analysis requests used to generate delivery summaries or insights. See OpenAI’s privacy policy.
  • Google Firebase — app attestation, fraud and abuse prevention, push messaging, and related technical data. See Firebase privacy and security information.
  • Mixpanel — product-use events and associated app or device information used for analytics. See Mixpanel’s privacy statement.
  • RevenueCat and Superwall — purchase status, subscription management, paywalls, and related product-use events. See the RevenueCat privacy policy and Superwall privacy policy.

These providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Their handling of information is also governed by their policies and our applicable agreements with them.

4. iCloud and local storage

Saved shipment records are stored on your device and can sync through Apple’s CloudKit when iCloud is available. iCloud is controlled through your Apple Account and device settings. Shipments also sends tracking requests to its backend so that it can retrieve current carrier data and support notification features.

Deleting a package in Shipments removes it from the app’s saved shipment list and requests deletion of the corresponding tracking from the Shipments tracking service. Copies may remain temporarily in backups, logs, or a service provider’s systems where retention is required for security, fraud prevention, billing, legal compliance, or ordinary system operation.

5. Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including providing tracking history and alerts, maintaining subscriptions, securing and improving the service, resolving support issues, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and by the service provider involved.

Because Shipments has no separate user account, there is no standalone Shipments account to close. You can delete individual shipments in the app. You can also contact us about a privacy or deletion request using the address below; we may need enough information to locate the relevant record and verify the request.

6. Choices and controls

  • Camera: Shipments requests camera access only when you use barcode scanning. You can revoke access in device Settings.
  • Notifications: You can decline or disable notifications in device Settings.
  • iCloud: You can manage iCloud access and storage through your Apple Account and device settings.
  • Shipments: You can remove saved packages individually in the app.
  • Subscriptions: You can view, cancel, or manage subscriptions through Apple’s App Store subscription settings.

7. Website data

Shipmentsapp.com is a static informational website. We do not currently place first-party analytics or advertising cookies on it. The hosting and network providers that deliver the site may process ordinary request data such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, timestamp, and security logs under their own policies. Following an external link takes you to a site with its own privacy practices.

8. Sale, advertising, and App Store disclosure

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use tracking information to advertise to you.

As of July 26, 2026, the U.S. App Store listing states that identifiers and usage data may be collected and are not linked to your identity. Apple notes that privacy disclosures are provided by the developer and are not verified by Apple. The App Store label is a summary; this policy provides additional context and will control if the descriptions differ.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections and access controls where appropriate. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

Shipments is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without any authorization required by law. If you believe a child has provided information in a way that violates applicable law, contact us so we can review and, where required, delete it.

11. Privacy rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information; to receive a portable copy; to restrict or object to certain processing; or to appeal a decision about a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

To make a request, email us at the address below and describe the right you want to exercise. We may need to verify your request. You may also have the right to contact your local privacy or data-protection authority.

12. Legal disclosures and business changes

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or a valid legal process, protect the rights and safety of users or others, investigate abuse or security issues, enforce our terms, or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. If ownership changes, information may transfer subject to this policy and applicable law.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app, providers, or law changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how information is handled, we will provide any additional notice required by law.
